Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

£41Learn the art of beautiful writing in this calligraphy workshop. Calligrapher Angela Reed, from Creative Calligraphy, will guide you through the basics of copperplate – a traditional calligraphy script that forms the basis for more modern calligraphy styles. You will be shown how to control a pointed nib before using it to create a beautiful alphabet with a dip pen and ink. All materials will be provided and are yours to keep afterwards. The workshop will run from 10am until 1pm and will be followed by a delicious Afternoon Tea. The cost is £41pp. To book call (01287) 622 544.
