Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

Copperplate Calligraphy (Beginners)

£125The word ‘calligraphy’ comes from the Greek words kallos (beauty) and graphe (writing) and we’re inviting you to learn one of the most beautiful scripts of them all with calligrapher Angela Reed, from Creative Calligraphy. Copperplate is an elegant calligraphy style, written with a dip pen and ink.
In this relaxed and informal session, Angela will introduce you to the art of writing with a pointed nib and guide you through the basic strokes before moving on to letter and word formation. All materials will be provided for you to keep so you can continue your practice at home, while refreshments and a delicious lunch will fuel your creativity throughout the day.
The ticket price includes morning coffee and cakes and a two-course lunch by Papaya.
