Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

Ink and Drink at WWT Washington

As part of the Drawn to Water: Quentin Blake at WWT programme of activities at WWT Washington, join calligraphy Angela Reed, from Creative Calligraphy, for a warming mulled wine as you enjoy a three-hour festive calligraphy workshop, where you’ll learn Foundational Hand – perfect for writing those Christmas cards and gift tags!
Angela has put together a lovely festive bundle of gift tags and place cards together with a calligraphy fountain pen, calligraphy rule and worksheet pack, all yours to take home. No previous experience is necessary – everyone is welcome! All equipment will be provided on the day. Mulled wine and other refreshments will be available throughout.
(The cost covers the art workshop only – general admission much be purchased if you’d like to explore the wetlands before or after the event)
