Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, Elvet & Bailey in Durham City and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held on Thursday and Friday mornings at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

The Cultural Spring – Traditional Calligraphy

£15Learn the beautiful art of writing with a broad-edged pen to create a traditional calligraphy script. You will be guided through the basics of writing with a calligraphy pen to drawing up guidelines for practice and creating letter forms from the Foundational Hand alphabet. All materials will be provided.
The five-week course is run by The Cultural Spring and there is a voluntary subscription of £3 per week.
Sessions will take place between 10am and noon every Wednesday.
