Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

Uncial Calligraphy Workshop

£30This engaging and expressive workshop in the Black Gate at Newcastle Castle will be taking inspiration from the medieval period of the Castle’s history and delving into some uncial script used by the scribes at the time. The ticket price includes materials and refreshments.
The second floor of the Black Gate, where this event takes place, is accessible via a lift, and has disabled toilet facilities.
